Mr Sohei Nakagawa 
MBBS FRACS

Mr Nakagawa, is a general surgeon with a clinical interest in laparoscopic, herina, colorectal, gastrointestinal and vascular surgery. He is also experienced in surgical oncology and acute trauma.

 

Mr Nakagawa joined Albury Surgical Group in 2006 and treats public and private patients in the Albury Wodonga area, as well as Deniliquin and Berrigan.

He is GESA certified in gastroscopy and colonoscopy and achieved colonoscopy re-certification in 2019.  

Mr Nakagawa is a long standing member of the Australian Medical Association (AMA), Rural Doctors Association (RDA) and General Surgeons of Australia (GSA). 

Mr Heinrich Schwalb
MBCHB MMED FCS (SA) FRACS

Mr Schwalb is a general surgeon with a clinical interest in gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.

Mr Schwalb joined Albury Surgical Group in 2008 and treats public and private patients in the Albury Wodonga Area as well as Corowa.  

Mr Schwalb is an examiner on the Court of Examiners in General Surgery.  

He is a Conjoint Associate Professor, lecturing at the UNSW Medical School.  

He is GESA certified in gastroscopy and colonoscopy and achieved colonoscopy re-certification in 2020.

Mr Schwalb is a member of the Australia New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association (anzHPBA).

Dr Liu-Ming Schmidt
MBBS FRACS

 

Dr Schmidt is a general surgeon with a clinical interest in Endocrine and Breast Surgery. 

Dr Schmidt joined Albury Surgical Group in 2011. She treats public and private patients operating at hospitals in Albury and Wodonga.

 

Dr Schmidt is actively involved in education and teaching as a Lecturer of UNSW Medical School.

She is an examiner and Surgical Review Panel member of the Australia Medical Council.

 

Dr Schmidt is accredited by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and is GESA certified in gastroscopy and colonoscopy, achieving colonoscopy re-certification in 2019. 

Mr Ajay John 
MS FRACS

 

Mr John is a general surgeon with a clinical interest in colorectal, hernias, breast, thyroid and a broad range of surgical emergencies.

Mr John joined Albury Surgical Group in 2016, after working for nine years at the Royal Darwin Hospital.

Mr John treats public and private patients in the Albury Wodonga area, as well as Corowa, Deniliquin and Finley.  

He is GESA certified in gastroscopy and colonoscopy including endoscopic interventions such as esophogeal and colonic stenting. He is currently completing colonoscopy re-certification.
